Anthony Edwards’ Top Five Career Moments
1. Career-High 51 Points Against the Wizards
In April 2024, Edwards delivered a stunning performance by scoring 51 points in a 130-121 victory over the Wizards. Shooting 58.6% from the field, he made 29 attempts, went 11-for-11 from the free-throw line, and shot 46.2% from beyond the arc. This feat places him among the select 25 players in NBA history to score 50 points in a game before turning 23.
2. Spectacular Alley-Oop Against the Grizzlies
One of Edwards’ most unforgettable dunks came in January against the Grizzlies. Partnered with Xavier Tillman at the top of the key, Edwards executed a flawless fake that sent Tillman off balance, allowing Edwards to throw the ball off the backboard and catch it mid-air for an astounding alley-oop.
3. Dominant Performance in the Conference Semifinals vs. Nuggets
Defying all expectations, Edwards led the Timberwolves against the reigning champions, the Nuggets, in the conference semifinals. Highlighted by two 40-point games in a seven-game series, he averaged 27.7 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game, shooting 50% from the field. His 44 points in Game 4 set a franchise record. Edwards now holds four of the six 40-point games in Minnesota playoff history.
4. Historic Stats Against the Trail Blazers
In January of his sophomore season (2021-22), Edwards achieved a unique stat line never before seen in NBA history. He scored 40 points, grabbed nine rebounds, recorded three steals, blocked three shots, and made five 3-pointers in a single game, leading Minnesota to a 109-107 win.
5. Jaw-Dropping Dunk Over John Collins
One of the most extraordinary moments in Edwards’ career occurred when he caught the ball in transition just two feet from the free-throw line and delivered a massive dunk over John Collins. The impact was so intense that Edwards dislocated his finger.
